The Host Company
The host company is a leading global manufacturer of steel components used in the construction industry. Products have been supplied to some of the world's major infrastructure projects including stadiums, bridges, airport terminals, schools, shopping centres and hotel complexes.
In 2010 the company won its second Queens Award for Export recognising its development in overseas markets.
The Placement
The position is available to start as soon as possible and for duration of 6 months from commencement.
The role will have a variety of duties and has scope to develop during the placement but will include a mix of the following tasks:
· Development and promotion of new project articles to promote Host company involvement in major construction projects.
· Management of E-mail marketing - Creating and distributing E-mail campaigns and monitoring responses.
· Assist with database management.
· Organisation of presentations to architects and engineers to promote Host company products.
· Research and follow up of construction projects on project database.
· Completion of monthly sales figure reports
· Identification of major construction projects around the world - and following up and monitoring projects of interest to Host Company.
· Organisation of overseas exhibitions
· Management of marketing material - managing stocks and distributing to clients / representatives when requested.
· Organisation of overseas sales trips for sales director and area sales managers including organising business meetings with appropriate clients, making travel arrangements and booking interpreters.
· The role will report to The Business Development Manager
· Support for accounts department
· Mail duties.
The ideal Student
· Studying Business, Marketing, and/or Engineering with an interest in the steel and construction industries.
· Excellent written and spoken English. Additional language skills would be an advantage but not essential.
· Excellent communication and telephone skills.
· Excellent IT skills.
