The Host Company

The Host Company is based in the exciting City of Nottingham. They are an independent organisation aiming to drive forward the climate change agenda, and have recently been awarded Best Not-For-Profit organisation at the 2011 International Green Awards!

The organisation was established in 1998 and aims to achieve the following objectives:

·          To advance the education of the public about energy efficiency

·          The protection and preservation of the environment and public health

To achieve this they act as a platform for climate change limitation partnerships and provide information, advice and consultancy to developers, community groups and individuals on how best to make use of renewable energy and energy efficiency in their properties.

The Placement

The host organisation are looking for an intern to assist them with web design and marketing activities. The tasks of the role will include the following:

·          Assisting the Marketing Officer in maintaining 4 web sites

·          Upgrading and making technical changes to the websites

·          Design and support of marketing materials

·          Event management and attendance

·          Research news items and produce articles for inclusion on the websites and wider media

·          Administrative tasks

The Ideal Student

·          Fluent English

·          Practical web design experience

·          High level of visual and digital awareness, so as to be able to create attractive and engaging documents, web pages and printed materials.

·          Experience of MS Office and other ICT packages.

·          Self motivation and teamwork.

·          Ability to work to strict deadlines.

·          An understanding of climate change and energy agendas.

·          Flexibility
