The Host Company

Established in 1997, the company has over 10 years experience of providing solutions for the digital signage and kiosk industries. Based in Leicester, their services include: hardware specification and supply, content creation, programming, web development, content management, remote support, consulting, and content distribution. They are unique in their field in that they combine both technical expertise and creative development in-house to ensure that both sides work in harmony. As well as creating custom developments, they have also used their experience to create a range of off-the-shelf products for customers who wish to create their own solutions.

The Placement

The successful applicant will be office based and work a 35 hour week. The company is relatively small with ten employees, so the applicant will need to have a positive and flexible approach to work. The ability to take ownership of an issue and follow it through to a successful resolution is also valued. The job will involve activities and responsibilities within the sales and marketing area, according to the student's ability.  As in any office, an element of the job will be to undertake administration and other office duties.

Depending on the successful applicant's language skills, he/she will also be encouraged to support existing clients in Europe and hopefully develop new ones.

Roles and responsibilities include:

•·         To support the sales and marketing team in maximising revenue through the exploitation of company products and services (primarily software).

•·         To develop and maintain strong working relationships with both internal departments and external clients.

•·         To act as a first point of contact for customers with any queries or problems and ensure that clients receive a full and efficient pre sales and after sales service.

•·         To assist the sales and marketing team in any other areas of the business as required.

The Ideal Student

The following skills will help in what is a fast paced industry:

  • Previous experience of working in an office support environment.
  • Strong relevant administrative experience.
  • Language skills in German, Italian, Spanish or French to intermediate or above level.
  • Excellent IT skills on basic systems e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and need to be skilful at learning new systems.
  • Strong organisational skills; ability to prioritise and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • To be pro-active and demonstrate initiative.
  • Good team player and experience of dealing with complex administrative tasks.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal with people at all levels.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • An ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
