The Host Company

The host organisation is a pharmaceutical supplier based in the Midlands region of England, and the centre of their operations is in the City of Leicester. They have been in operation for over 17 years and operate to a very high standard, having staff which is trained to the highest possible level.

The company have focused mainly on retail over the years, but are currently looking to expand into a number of areas.

This includes the creation of an academy aimed at educating the local community on the benefits of healthy living and the prevention of ill health as favourable to cure. They also have the facilities available to host health related conferences and clinics.

One area that the host organisation is looking to expand into is international wholesale trade. The Middle East is a particularly strong area for them to expand into as the areas of healthcare they specialise in are of importance in the region.

The Placement

The Host Company is looking for an international student to assist them in their ambitious plans for growth. They have prepared a responsible, exciting and varied placement for the correct applicant.

Duties will include the following:

  • Management of the organisation's website - uploading material, search engine optimisation, handling customer enquiries for example.
  • The development of a marketing campaign based on social media networking.
  • Email promotion (starting with the local area and expanding nationally).
  • General marketing and e-marketing.
  • Creation of videos for You Tube promotions.
  • Purchasing and selling.
  • International competitor analysis (Africa and Middle East).
  • Business Planning.
  • Maintaining of website.
  • Knowledge of and applying Ebay shop link to website.

The Ideal Student

  • Fluent in English, written, reading and spoken.
  • Excellent IT skills and social media know-how.
  • Self motivated.
  • Confident.
  • Marketing skills.
  • Good computing skills
