The Host Company
The host company is a hotel located close to the city centre of Nottingham and its many attractions, including the city of caves, galleries of justice, sports grounds and the legend of Robin Hood. The hotel has extensive facilities for guests requiring either leisure of business usage.
There are 172 rooms, a bar and grill, a pool and spa, and Wi-Fi internet service in every room.
Conference facilities are excellent, with 11 meeting rooms available, capable of holding 180 guests. There are also rooms available for holding large exhibitions.
The Placement
The host company is looking for a food and beverage and accounts assistant. The successful applicant will be the first point of contact for guests at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Along with colleagues the successful applicant will ensure the smooth running of the restaurant, bar and conferences, creating an efficient and friendly atmosphere.
The role will involve the following:
- Demonstration of a "Yes I can" attitude and motivation to achieve the highest possible standards in service to both guests and colleagues.
- Service to customers in a friendly and courteous manner, always following the "Yes I can" standards.
- Positive representation of the hotel and its facilities/services in a good light at all times, maximising sales and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- High level of cleanliness and presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.
- Assistance of the F&B management in daily revenue controls, and organisation of duties on a day to day basis.
- Working with Hotel Financial Controller in e.g. cost control, and day to day input of accounting information.
Duties include
- Welcoming and seating guests at arrival.
- Organise duties and transmit accurate information to team members as necessary.
- Checking invoicing and cash operations and daily activity reports, ensuring accuracy.
- Carry out storage and stock management for the department.
- Analysing hotel procedures ensuring efficiency and accuracy, looking for ways to improve productivity.
