The Host Company
The Host Company are a small to medium sized enterprise based in the City of Derby. They provide engineering solutions in the form of gas struts and gas springs which they both supply and manufacture.
The company's products are available in all sizes for domestic, automotive, leisure, marine, aviation, medical and other applications.
As well as producing such products the host company, having access to a fully fitted workshop and a team of highly qualified engineers, is able to repair and re-gas existing products.
The Placement
The host company are seeking a Spanish student to assist them in raising their profile in Spain. To achieve this aim the successful applicant will be involved in a range of tasks including the following:
Social Media Networking - the successful applicant will be responsible for the creation of a wide reaching social networking profile to generate online awareness for the organisation. This will include the use of such sites as linkdIn, twitter, facebook and sites that are popular and prevalent within Spain.
Translation - The company's website is currently in English and the successful student will be involved in translating the site into Spanish so that it may be better accessed by clients and potential clients in Spain.
Sales Activity - There will be tow sides to the sales part of the role. The student will be involved in making targeted telephone calls to potential customers in Spain, generating new business for the company.
Following on from successful calling the student will accompany the company's Sales Manager on business trips to Spain, promoting the company product range and acting as an interpreter when necessary.
Marketing - The student will also be involved in the helping to develop marketing materials and for the translation of documents into Spanish from English. For the translation part of the role it would be beneficial for applicants to have an understanding of engineering terminology.
This is a diverse role that offers the successful applicant the opportunity to demonstrate a wide range of skills. As the first international student to work with the company the successful applicant will act as a pioneer, forging the role that they are involved in.
