The Host Company

The Host Company are an independently owned, exclusively Fairtrade Coffee business based on the edge of the Peak District in the South West of Sheffield. They supply a full range of Coffee's, Tea's, Hot Chocolate and Sugars to all aspects of the Out of Home market.  Working throughout the UK and Ireland, the Host Company specialise in the supply of beverages to Colleges, Universities, Catering Companies, Pubs & Bars and Independent Cafe's. Established in 2003, the company is a leading supplier of ethically sourced products with one of the most comprehensive range of premium Fairtrade beverages available. In addition to their product portfolio they also supply Espresso machines and dispense equipment as well as branding  for their customers.

The Placement

The Host Company are looking for an international student to work with the Managing Director on the development of sales throughout the company's National Account base. The company will provide the successful applicant with a fully comprehensive training program covering all aspects of Coffee production. This will include time at the roastery in Peterborough but will be based from the offices in Sheffield. In addition to this the student will be trained to a fully qualified Barista.

This will provide expert knowledge to the student on the UK Coffee Market as well as working in a closely run, private company.

The student will be involved in the following activities; 

Coffee Production - An insight into how our Latin America Coffee is processed and taken to market

Sales & Marketing - Working within the sales division the successful candidate will be involved in the selling and marketing ideas, looking to take the product to market through independent coffee shops locally

Training - The successful candidate will be required to teach Barista Training both in the field as well as in the showroom.

Promotional Activity - The successful Candidate will work on new product development with drinks recipes, incentives for customers and ideas on promoting the company through various channels.

Translation - The company have a direct link with their producers in Latin America, this would include Skype calls and the translation of emails to our producer groups. This will also assist the Managing Director in his development of the Spanish Language.
