The Company

The host company is a translation agency based in Nottingham offering translation services between English and all major languages. They specialise in a wide range of technical areas including label and packaging translation for leading retail brands, website translation and localisation, including e-commerce translation and online press releases. By working with excellent translators with expertise inthe clients' field of work, the host company delivers high quality translations for any type of business.

The Placement

The host company is ideally looking for a student studying translation to help the student broaden their understanding of the translation industry, as well as improve their English skills. The successful student would be involved with some translation management, a limited amount of proofreading of texts and helping to introduce ISO9001 and ISO14001.

In the event that the successful student is not specifically specialised in translation studies, but is undertaking a business related course, they will carry out a number of tasks, including helping the company to implement ISO9001 and ISO14001. They would also be required to produce a detailed business plan - including analysis to detail moves towards market expansion into a new area e.g. Belgium. The successful student would be looking at the new market, the chance of success, competitors' analysis, budgeting etc.
