The Host Company

The Host Company is based in the Derbyshire town of Ripley. They are specialists in the design and manufacture of perimeter intrusion detection systems.

The sector is one which is very technical and requires the company to be able to constantly adapt develop their products to ensure their customers are supplied with the most up to date equipment available.

The staff at the company have gained a wealth of experience having worked in the industry for 20 years, and are fully aware that the key to success in this market sector is the ability to offer comprehensive technical support and advice to potential and existing customers.

The Placement

The Host Company are looking for a student to assist them to develop the market within Germany. The role is diverse and will include the following:

  • Marketing - creating and sending mail shots for the German market to potential clients.
  • Sales - telephone calls and, possibly visits, to clients and potential clients in Germany.
  • Communications - liaising with the Company's German contacts, in particular those responsible for the installation of the company's products.
  • Event planning - organisation of exhibitions within Germany and the UK.
  • Exhibiting - attending a trade show exhibition in Germany.
  • Research - looking into potential agents and distributors for the company's products in Germany.
