The host company is an internationally operating organisation specialising in the production of engineering plastic stock shapes. Products are sold worldwide to distributors and machine shops that manufacture components for the marine, automotive, aerospace and oil and gas processing industries.
They are a part of global organisation with bases in the UK, the US, the far East and headquarters in Germany. The company have developed a reputation for innovation, quality and technical excellence. This organisation prides itself on its ability to recognise and respond to the needs of its customers.
The UK branch of operations is based in the East Midlands City of Leicester, a thriving city, ideally located in the centre of England, with good transport links to London and the rest of the country.
The host company are looking for a German speaker to assist them with their business development. The company have identified potential customer segments within German speaking and other nations where the successful applicant will be required to use their linguistic ability and ideally their technical background to communicate with clients and potential clients as well as with the Germany division of the organisation.
Besides the language capabilities the applicants should possess basic business and technical knowledge and ability in order to understand the products and customer needs. Due to the nature of the placement there is opportunity for an excellent learning experience. The student will be placed in the business development department of the company and thus ideally located between the marketing and sales, the production and logistics and the administrative departments. Due to the small to medium size of the company this position allows the student to witness a first hand experience through the entire value adding process.
